The interdisciplinary Research Training Group “MultiSenses – MultiScales: Novel approaches to decipher neural processing in multisensory integration” is funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (GRK 2416) and provides an exciting research and training environment for a cohort of motivated PhD/doctoral candidates.
Multisensory processes are fundamental in scaffolding perception, cognition, learning, and behavior. However, the structural and functional architecture that underlies the brain’s ability to seamlessly integrate simultaneous multisensory inputs is poorly understood. Therefore, the goal of the RTG MultiSenses – MultiScales is to gain a conceptual understanding of the mechanisms that govern crossmodal integration of sensory information at multiple scales. The RTG will provide in-depth expertise in sensory neurobiology, foster the spirit of transdisciplinary collaboration, and offer hands-on training in a variety of cutting-edge techniques.
